Fundamentals is a gi-optional class geared towards beginners or those who wish to solidify their foundation in jiu-jitsu. Fundamentals offers:

  1. A more traditional class structure (line drill warmups, technique, and positional sparring).
  2. A shorter, simpler, and more focused 6 month curriculum cycle to limit feeling overwhelmed.
  3. Positional sparring and games in place of free sparring, to help you ease into rolling.

This day is marked as closed. Reopen the day to edit or restore sessions.

Our evening all-levels classes are appropriate for both beginners and advanced students. We follow a broad curriculum with topics that rotate monthly.

These 120 minute classes typically consist of 60 minutes of instruction followed by 60 minutes of sparring (think of this as lecture followed by lab). Members may come or go at any time.

The instruction portion often consists of 10-15 minutes of warm-up (usually movement drills with a partner), followed by about 30-45 minutes of technique instruction (including drilling and specific training, such as games, situational sparring, or positional sparring).

Following the instruction portion of class, the remaining hour is usually dedicated to additional specific training and free sparring.

This day is marked as closed. Reopen the day to edit or restore sessions.
